What Changed Your Life This Year

Three Websites That Have Affected Me This Year

The year 2010 was a beautiful year that had its imperfections too. It was a year of cries, laughter, losses and gains. It was a year of many new things and many firsts for me.

It was a year where I learnt life lessons on love, communication, relationships, work and life in general. But there were some unforgetful things that touched me and encounters for which I am particularly grateful. I met new people physically and virtually that affected me positively. I read books and blogs and websites that also changed my life this year and those are the ones I want to talk about.

1. Femme Lounge: The first time I entered this site was earlier in the year. I honestly cannot recall how I got the link/website address (I love to read blogs and sometimes read the blogger’s favorite blogs; you know the ones listed by the side). But once I started coming to the site, I was totally hooked. I loved the look and the feel and I loved the organization of the articles as well as the content. The purple color was also a total turn-on for me. Its name “Femme Lounge” couldn’t describe it any better as I would come here after a hard day’s work or whenever I needed a break from work and just read and relax. There was always something entertaining, fun and enlightening that spoke to me not just as a person but as a woman. I’m so grateful for this virtual space. I remember also when the “April Giveaway” came and how eager I was to win something and to let the owners know how much the site had blessed. Femme Lounge was my “it” virtual space for 2010.

2. Light – her – lamp: Although I did not discover this site in 2010, I must say that it totally blessed me and enriched my Spirit every time throughout the year. Jaycee has a unique writing style and has a way of making me just forget about my environment and get lost in what I am reading. Sometimes, the words have been like water to a parched ground and at other times like sunlight, warm and refreshing. It ministers to my spirit and every time I read, I see the Word of God in another light, there’s always something fresh, something inspiring and new. The Word she shared was real and still reminded me that I lived in the world. I’m glad for the encounter.

3. Bella Naija: Yeah! I love to be entertained too. Although I am not a fashionista (or whatever it is that means someone who is very trendy), I love to know what’s in vogue, what’s hot, what songs are trending, what parties are going down *wink* (not like I ever go for these things sha). I also never miss the wedding sections. (Yes, I’m a romantic and I’m not afraid to tell it). It reminds me of the beauty of love and commitment. Although I hardly comment, I read the articles and I’m happy she’s doing what she’s doing.

There were other websites and blogs that I read but none that I visited as much as these ones. In 2010, I re-affirmed the power of written words and how important it is for me to be careful about the kind of words I’m interacting with. I learnt how necessary it is for me to be reading the right things, things that are positive and enhancing for my spirit, my soul and my body.

It’s not only about speaking positively and listening to the right people, it is also important that you are reading the right things all the time. Someone once said that the books you read and the people you interact with will determine what your life will be like in the next 5 years.

I also want to use this space to thank my virtual friends that touched my life in 2010 – Le Dynamique Professeur and Tricia. God bless you!

Happy new year everyone, it’s our best year yet.

Stay beautiful….

This was indeed the most complex year
I do not know about you, But what pleases me the most is being with my husband and my daughter and son
I wish everyone will become pregnant this year with a baby boy or if you prefer a baby girl that will full your house with joy
