Leaving Her Abusive Husband Changed Her Life This Year
5,4,3,2,1…..Happy new year! That was how I was ushered into the new year in one of the leading pentecostal churches in Nigeria, soon after that I went home with my kids. My husband called to speak with the kids and after that he spoke with me pronouncing blessings for the new year.
In March a lady called me to warn me of my husband’s behaviour, that he was getting engaged to another lady. Our families and the church intervened and after a while we settled the matter and everything went back to normal. Things didn’t get better, it became worse, he became violent, we quarrelled often, he kept late nights and didn’t care about me and the kids.
One night I checked his phone, there was so much to see, but what really got at me was a conversation he had with a colleague, he told him that I was not his wife but the mother of his girls and he was going to kill me and replace me with his girl friend. I packed my things out of the house on a Sunday and went to the church, he came to the church but he wasn’t sober.
He threatened to beat me right on the altar, he rained insults on me and told me never to contact him ever again, as for his kids, he instructed me to even change their surnames. I agreed. My family was called and they came to pick me and since then I blocked him out of my life for good.
Right now, he is going about like a wounded lion begging me to come back and did I mention that he is diabolical!
This year has indeed changed every thing around me, but I bless God that he has been with me through all this. Believe me when I say, I have never been better.

Life is precious and shld be treated with dignity. It is the height of threat to life when it is coming from a supposed husband.
