I once took a break from work to try my hands out on writing. It wasn’t meant to be permanent , just a time to explore my creative side and see what I could do with it.
It was a whole new world. I loved the new challenge, I met interesting people and I developed many of my latent creative skills. When i decided to go back to work, I was shocked at how much things had changed in a little time.
There were new softwares everywhere, new experts had emerged and a whole lot of things had changed. I felt quite rusty.
When I know my stuff, I strut my stuff. I am absolutely confident when I know what I am talking about, but when I am unsure of my competence, my confidence level drops as well.
Taking a long break from work can definitely have a negative effect on your confidence, whether it was a maternity leave, medical leave, a time off to explore another opportunity or even an absence due to unemployment.

The eBook is twenty pages but there are quite a lot of lessons to take in and digest slowly, it is not to be rushed over at all. From appreciating yourself, to valuing relationships with other people and learning new skills and attitudes, it covers quite a lot.
It has loads of tips on self-affimation which became a bit overwhelming for me at a point. I also would have loved to read more practical tips on the “develop yourself ” step.
It is a straight to the point, easy to read eBook, and readers will definitely learn a new thing from it.
